Results – Ashford in the Water, Derbyshire. 19/07/26

The cricket ground at Ashford in the Water is gaining a reputation for being an extremely tough venue to cast at. It is set in a beautiful small hollow with surrounding trees and walls, thus any breeze tends to circulate. Given the forecast of a warm sunny day with light winds the casters knew that, at this venue, they would be faced with a breeze that would clock through 180 degrees within the few minutes of each timed session. As such, casters had to be prepared to make the most of the situation when the breeze dropped or turned in their favour, or to patiently wait through periods of head wind.
